She furthered her education at Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University, earning her Master of Divinity in 2003. Yvonne ended her career in Amarillo, Texas, with the Veterans Administration working as the Director of Human Resources. Her passion for biblical studies and love for all people led her to her second career as a Pastor. She was ordained at the Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington, Texas, on September 18th, 2005. From 2005 to 2010, she pastored three Lutheran churches in West Texas at the same time; going from one service to the next every Sunday. Each week she would join the ladies of the World Relief Quilting Group. She was very supportive and encouraging to everyone. She loved these ladies dearly. She made many, many quilt tops for the World Relief. But she did not stop there. She made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She did not just make quilts. She made quilted bags. Every family member owns at least one of her quilted bags. She loved picking out the fabric at JoAnn’s. Making the quilts was an art to her. She also loved watching sports with her husband, William. She loved the Chicago Bears.
