She continued her studies at UTA and earned a Master in Business Administration in 1983 and a Master in History in 2000. She furthered her education at Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University, earning her Master of Divinity in 2003. Yvonne ended her career in Amarillo, Texas, with the Veterans Administration working as the Director of Human Resources. From 2005 to 2010, she pastored three Lutheran churches in West Texas at the same time; going from one service to the next every Sunday. At the end of the pastorship in West Texas in 2010, Yvonne had a need to move back to her home base in Arlington, Texas, to help with the care for her grandson, Ezekiel Lowrey. She resumed her pastorship responsibilities when she pastored at King of Glory in Fort Worth from 2011 to 2015. She retired in 2016 and intermittently pastored as a supply pastor from 2016-2022.

She has a library of personal books that she cherished. Her passion did not end with her books. She loved to sew and make quilts. Her quilting group was one of her most treasured times. Each week she would join the ladies of the World Relief Quilting Group. She was very supportive and encouraging to everyone. She loved these ladies dearly. She made many, many quilt tops for the World Relief. But she did not stop there. She made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She did not just make quilts. She made quilted bags. Every family member owns at least one of her quilted bags. She loved picking out the fabric at JoAnn’s. Making the quilts was an art to her. She also loved watching sports with her husband, William. She loved the Chicago Bears.

Yvonne was an amazing women, wife, mother, and friend. Her beauty and intellect shined above all others.
