William Alan “Bill” Swanson was born on June 15th, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, to Ben Z. Swanson Sr. and to Orlina Remington Albright, and passed away on November 16th, 2022, in Bedford, Texas, at the age of 84 years old.
William was born in San Antonio, Texas, and lived in Dallas, Texas, briefly before moving to Houston, Texas. Bill graduated from the University of Houston and entered the United States Air Force after graduating. He spent many years in construction and was the second in command to build Neiman Marcus at the Galleria in Houston.
Bill was a very religious person and spent much of his time attending services. He also volunteered at The Battered Women's Foundation and served on its board.
Bill and his former wife, Becky, maintained a close and friendly relationship and helped each other often.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, Ben Z. Swanson Sr., mother, Orlina Remington Albright Swanson, and fraternal twin brother, Robert Neal Swanson.
Bill is survived by his older brother, Ben. Swanson Jr., former wife, Becky, and her three children, who were not adopted but raised as his children.
