Troy Dale Amos was born on September 26th, 1963 in Dayton, Ohio to Jerry Rose Grant and Larry Dale Amos and passed away on September 9th, 2023 in Rowlett, Texas at the age of 59.
Troy grew up in New Carlisle, Ohio and was the oldest of three children. He moved to Texas in his early 20s and never looked back. Troy proudly worked for Packaging Corporation of America for 34 years.
Troy loved fishing and spending time at the lake with family and friends. He was an excellent bowler and part of the 300 club. In his spare time, you could find him watching or playing sports, especially basketball. His favorite was watching his daughter play volleyball. Anytime Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, or Def Leppard came on the radio, Troy couldn’t help but to rock out.
Above all else, he loved people. He showed compassion to others and loved to strike up a conversation with anyone nearby. He loved his daughter, Erica, with all of his heart.
Troy Dale Amos is preceded in death by his father, Larry, and his mother, Jerry. He is survived by his daughter Erica Scalf and husband Tyler; his grandson, Jackson; his brother Jeff and wife Jill; his sister, Deana; his beloved cat, Zoey; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; Erica’s mother, Rhonda; and close friends called family.
Troy passed from Frontotemporal Dementia. His Celebration of Life will be at New Hope Church in Wylie, TX on Sunday, September 17 at 2pm.
