Thomas Evans Snyder, 74, peacefully passed away of cancer on Sunday, February 13th, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones and in the comfort of his home in Keller, Texas.
Born in West Virginia on March 21st, 1947, Thomas (Tom) was the son of the late Thomas and Floy (Hesser) Snyder of Newark, Delaware.
Tom graduated from John Dickinson High School, in Wilmington, Delaware, and attended the University of Delaware. Tom is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Tom retired after four decades in the medical technology industry, as a product engineer from Siemens (formally DuPont and Dade Behring) in Glasgow, Delaware.
Tom loved the outdoors and enjoyed going to the beach, camping, boating, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Tom was an avid sports fan, and enthusiastically cheered on his beloved Blue Hens, Eagles, and Ravens. He spent his retirement working on his Austin-Healy with his son and grandson, and traveling the country with Sylvia, his love of the past ten years.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, by his sister, Shirlene Riley Miller, and by his second wife, Cheryl (Doughten).
Tom is survived by his common-law wife, Sylvia Butcher, by his children, Thomas E Snyder II and wife Angela, by Nikki Ries and husband Brian, by Ashley Snyder, and by his seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be private.
