Theodore "Ted" Ira Hunsberger

On Tuesday July 26, 2022, Theodore Ira Hunsberger passed away from complications of Sepsis in Grapevine, Texas.

Ted - as he was known to all - was born on March 19, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Ira and Leahdora (Bovey) Hunsberger and grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska.  He was a fan of travel and adventure and lived in four other states before joining his beloved daughter in Texas. As a retired airline mechanic, pilot, sky diver, and hot air balloon operator, Ted was a fan of being in the air, and was able to make one last skydiving jump this past May.

Ted was preceded in death by his father Ira, mother Leahdora, and baby brother, Stephen.

He is survived by his daughter Angela (Michael) Hausman, and grandchildren Lindsey (Nathan) Ross, Joseph (Nicole) Hausman, and Caroline Hausman. He is also survived by his younger brother Timothy and sister-in-law Barbara Hunsberger, and Ted’s favorite nieces - Joanna and Katherine Hunsberger. Always a social butterfly, Ted will be remembered by countless other friends and family including his cousin and lifelong best friend Mary Jean Blumenstock.

A small ceremony will be held this fall in Grand Island, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Network for Organ Sharing, who helped save the life of his oldest niece or to Pilots and Paws which combined two of his favorite things - piloting and dog rescue.
