Sharma Lynne Hansen was born on February 22nd, 1959, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to James Larue Reece and Dorothy Dell Reece (Fenner), and passed away on November 28th, 2022, in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 63 years old.
Sharma grew up primarily in Fort Worth, Texas, and she was raised alongside her siblings, Pete Reece and Joanie Heinly, by her loving widowed mother. She graduated from Stratford High School in Houston, TX and later attended Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. She graduated from TWU in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation she served a church mission in Guatemala. She later worked as a registered nurse in Dallas, TX and Salt Lake City, UT.
Sharma loved reading; it was truly her favorite hobby. In particular, she loved to read mystery books. Sharma enjoyed taking road trips with her husband to visit state and national parks. She loved the history of the United States and enjoyed visiting historic sites and monuments. She particularly enjoyed a trip with her husband to New England to see the changing colors of the leaves in fall. Sharma was also passionate about Family history and would gather family records and documents, tracing her family lineage back several hundred years.
Her life was dedicated to serving others. She was a loving mother and wife. Her 5 children and husband were her top priority. She loved serving the Lord unselfishly through numerous church callings. Through those callings she affected the lives of many people for the positive. She also considered it a privilege to care for many people on some of their worst days as a trauma and transplant nurse. Her final act of giving was to donate her kidneys to save the life of two others. She will be deeply missed by loved ones near and far.
Sharma was preceded in death by her daughter, Maren, and her parents, Jim and Dotti Reece. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Daniel, Rebekah Stevic (Colin), James, and Faith; siblings, Pete Reece (Debi), Joanie Heinly (Bob); as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation on behalf of Sharma to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
