Sarah Regan Obituary

Sarah “Lynne” Regan was born on April 16th, 1944, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to Earl Harvey Hamm and to Sarah Arlene Payne, and passed away on February, 27th, 2024, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 79 years old.

Lynne grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana, with her three siblings Stephen, Jan and Lea Ann. She graduated from West Monroe High School in 1962, where she was involved in band, cheerleading and Girls State. She was selected as Homecoming maid of honor her senior year. After high school she attended Northeast Louisiana College before marrying and having her two children. Lynne worked in the securities industry for over 35 years as an operations manager, and then registered representative before retiring from A.G. Edwards and Sons in 2000. She moved to Texas not long after retiring to be closer to her daughter's family.

Lynne attended First Baptist Church of West Monroe. She was a member of Pentatura Book Club and held several officer positions over the years. Pentatura was where she made lifelong friends that she kept in touch with even after moving to Texas. She loved spending time with her grandchildren any time she had the chance. She traveled to Europe visiting The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Denmark, to see family living abroad. She and her sisters enjoyed several "sister trips," the last one seeing the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed talking on the phone often and spending Thanksgiving together every year. She was deeply loved by all those around her.

Lynne was a loving mother to her two children, Rhonda and Ryle. She fiercely loved her grandchildren Marissa, Garrett, Sam, Chris and Cooper, and her great-grand dogs, Julio, Dolly and Otto. Her children's friends loved to hear her talk with that Louisiana accent. They would often say that her voice was like a warm blanket to the soul. She stayed in touch with good friends as much as she could and always wished she was able to get out and visit more.

Lynne is preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Arlene Hamm and Earl Harvey Hamm, and her brother, Stephen Earl Hamm.

Lynne is survived by her children, Rhonda Dickson and husband, Glenn; Ryle Regan and wife, Amanda; her grandchildren, Marissa Dickson, Garrett Dickson, Sam Regan, Chris Mayo, and Cooper Mayo; her sisters, Jan Hall and husband, Mabe, and Lea Ann Hamm; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at Feazel Chapel on the campus of First West in West Monroe, Louisiana, on March 23rd, 2024, at 11:00am. There will be a visitation immediately preceding the service from 10:00am until the time of service. There will be a family burial service at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens after the service.

If you would like to make a donation, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Lynne's name to one of the following WomenHeart.org. or Lovepacs.org (Lewisville).

John 11:25-26. "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
