Sarah Josephine Clark, 43, went home to be with the Lord at her home in Richardson, Texas, November 2, 2023. Sarah was born May 31, 1980, in Sheldon, Iowa, to Ron and Rachel Hanson. She grew up in Madelia and, after graduation from high school, went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in elementary education at Minnesota State University Mankato.
Sarah was united in marriage to Patrick Clark on June 7, 2003. After Pat and Sarah graduated from college they accepted teaching positions in Sanders, Arizona. Two years later they moved to Dallas and both were teachers in area schools. Between the two of them they had five children: Madison (Kevin) Gaskins, Connor, Carter, McKenna and Landon. Family was important to Sarah and she loved playing board games with them, especially if she could win! She enjoyed decorating for every holiday, cooking big meals and was often trying new recipes. She loved teaching and saw worth in each student she had, even the more difficult ones. Sarah had a generous heart, loved to buy gifts for others just because, her love language. Was a caring person who often prepared meals for families who were ill, recovering from surgery or having a baby, loved throwing parties in her backyard and opened her home to someone in need of a place to stay for a season.
Sarah will be greatly missed by her friends and family and leaves behind her husband, Patrick, parents, Ron and Rachel Hanson, father-in-law, Forest "Woody" Clark, three sisters, Beth (John) Goodburn, Heidi Clobes and Naomi Chayer, and 11 nieces and nephews: Jena, Joshua, Julia, Chelsea, Caleb, CaleyAnn, Sydney, Dylan, and her five children: Madison and husband; Kevin Gaskins, Connor, Carter (Kenzie Riess), McKenna and Landon. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary Beth Clark, grandparents Myrtle and Norman Hanson and Orville and Mildred Hovelson.
Visitation will be Friday, November 17th from 4-6 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at First Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas.
