Robert Sutton was born to Sidney and Margaret Sutton in Chicago, Illinois. At Hinsdale High School he met Diane LeClair, his future wife, albeit six years later.
After earning his degree in Economics at DePauw University, he joined Bristol Laboratories as a pharmaceutical salesman. Two years later, he transferred to San Diego as their youngest district manager. Next, he was promoted to Denver as Regional Manager, his territory extended through Montana to the Texas border. He became VP of Marketing for Bristol Medical Products Division in Syracuse. In 1976, they awarded him the gold ring for Bristol’s Best. That year, he and Diane and their sons moved to Dallas.
Bob instilled in his sons, Steven, Alan, Andrew and Mark, the confidence, courage and love to truly relish all the wonders that life has to offer. He was always there for his sons. He provided them guidance, expertise and true mentorship.
He loved camping, fly fishing, golfing and woodworking--creating in his shop furniture and gifts for friends. When remodeling, he was fearless in his abilities to tear out the roof for a sky light, build walls, create all the cabinets, lay the floors and construct the gazebo and deck.
He delighted in the company of his daughters-in-law: Meda, Kate and Leigh Ann and grand-daughters: Corey, Grace, Sarah, Rhianna and Sienna and great-granddaughter Tatum and his only grandson, Taylor.
Everyone Bob met, he liked and everyone liked him. All of us will miss him.
