Robert Gary Dunnam, 75 of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on June 3, 2021 in Irving, Texas. A son, brother, husband, father, and friend, Rob was born on October 26 in Fort Worth Texas to Mary R. (Riddel) Dunnam and step-father JW Dunnam. Thanks to DNA testing, his daughter helped him discover his biological father, Lloyd W. Balding, who predeceased him in 1975 in California. Rob graduated from Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School and later entered into the United States Navy in 1964 at age 19. He was a radioman on the USS Valor in Vietnam during the TET Offensive and was a two-time sniper survivor.
Rob married Patsy M. Cass on July 12, 1969 in Fort Worth, TX. Patsy met Rob through her brother, Michael, who had become friends with Rob after they both enlisted in the Navy in Dallas, TX. Rob and Patsy had two children, Robin and Eric, and made their home in Crowley, TX. Before retiring, Rob worked as a plant manager for a contact lens manufacturer. He always enjoyed working with his hands cooking, baking, crafting, wood-working, painting, and various home repair projects. Rob enjoyed panning for gold and traveling in his later years. After living life as a snow bird, he met and married his second wife, Jeanette Russell in Arizona. They had retired to Maui, Hawaii to enjoy life on the beach and host family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Patsy, wife Jeanie, brother William, and sister Linda of Fort Worth.
Survivors include his children, Robin and Eric Dunnam, both of Fort Worth, brother Joe Dunnam of Arlington, sister Terry Thompson of Georgetown, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
