Pamela Kay Jeans, affectionately known as Pam, passed away on April 15, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by close family. Born on November 5, 1951, in Mena, Arkansas, Pam was the only child of RC and Evelyn Jeanes. After moving from Arkansas to Texas when she was a child, Pam grew to be a cherished member of her Beeville community and then moved to Fort Worth in 2017 to be close to family after the passing of her parents.
The daughter of educators, Pam discovered her own love for teaching while at Howard Payne University and then Texas A&M University, Kingsville. She dedicated her life to the children of Beeville, teaching generations of families in Skidmore ISD and Beeville ISD for 38 years. Pam touched countless lives with her care and compassion, and after retirement, she continued to change lives as a tutor and substitute teacher in Fort Worth.
Pam's life was one of wanderlust and adventure, and she was especially drawn to the beach. Her stories of travel always included friends and family (and a wrong turn or two), and the memories of wonderment and laughter will be forever etched in their hearts. Pam also loved animals with a tender heart, especially her Chloe Kitty.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, and while she had no siblings or children of her own, she was devoted “sister” to her extended family and friends. She was a loving godmother to Lauren and Mikala, and a doting “grandmother” and “great-grandmother” to her youngest cousins, whom she referred to as her “own.”
A memorial to celebrate Pam’s life will be held at a later date.
The family asks that people honor Pam’s brave fight against cancer by making a donation to The American Cancer Society.
Anyone who had the privilege to know Pam was touched by her selfless heart, inspired by her resilient spirit, and humbled by her servant heart. She will be forever missed, but those she left behind can find comfort knowing that she is at peace in the arms of her Lord.
