Michelle Thomas Obituary

Michelle grew up in Hemlock, Michigan with several siblings and close family as neighbors. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in education and then later in life went to Delta College to get her nursing degree. Michelle worked as a nurse in the OR, rehab, and as a case manager. While Michigan was always home, Michelle moved to various states to be close to her daughter with her latest adventure in Dallas, Texas. She had many hobbies and interests including sewing, baking for family and friends, canning with her husband, and she enjoyed donating during the holiday season. She also loved planting in her flower garden, feeding and watching the hummingbirds, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog. She loved her pets and sharing good food with friends and family. Michelle had a bubbly personality, and her contagious sense of humor always had you smiling and laughing. She never met a stranger she didn’t like and talked to everyone. Michelle had the kindest heart and always loved helping and giving to others. She was the best mother to her daughter Michaela, and they were best friends. Michelle was a loving wife to her soulmate Ed of 43 years.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father William Thomas, her mother Sally Thomas, her brothers Billy Thomas, Mike Thomas, and Jeff Thomas, and her sister Sherry Thomas. She is survived by her husband Edward Gave, her daughter Michaela Gave, her dog Eddie and her siblings Renee (Bill) Brown, Leanne (Mike) Harrold, Amy (Wayne) Spaeth, and Lee Thomas, as well as her Aunt Sara, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved dearly.

A memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to your local animal rescue/shelter.

Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy, and celebration. The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning, and that laughter is life's sweetest creation.
