Michael Robert Schlotter, 61, passed away suddenly, but peacefully on September 2, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. Michael was born March 2, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert and Carol Davis Schlotter. He was an identical twin to his favorite sibling, Patrick.
Michael proudly began serving in the United States Army in the early 1980’s spending most of his time in Germany. He was a Heavy Anti-armor Weapons Infantryman and Drill Sergeant. He received many commendations including Expert Qualification Hand Grenade Badge, Marksman Qualification Badge (M-16), Army Good Conduct Medal (twice awarded), Drill Sergeant Badge, Parachutist Badge, Expert Qualification Badge, and Army Commendation Medal.
Michael had one career over the last 40 years – long haul truck driver. Michael had a devotion and deep love for his industry. Most of his happy time was spent driving across these great States of our country. Michael could only spend a couple days away from the “Big Rig” before he would become anxious and needed to drive.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Robert, his mother Carol, and his big brother, Timothy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, daughter Ashley (fiancée Josh Hooper) of PA, son Michael, Jr. of PA, son Cory (wife Alisha) of PA, five grandchildren, Sadiez, Teagan, Julien, McKenzie, and Selena and his loving siblings, Stephan Schlotter of TX, Patrick Schlotter (wife Leah) of FL, Katie Schlotter Phillips (husband Joseph) of TX, Jessica Richard (Husband Bobby) of TX, Eric (wife Sicily) of TX, and stepmother Charlene of TX, and many nieces and nephews, and friends from around the country.
