Michael Wayne Claytor, born in Denton, Texas, and grew up in Denton and Richardson. He attended JJ Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas where he played football and basketball. In 1973, Mike started building houses in the developing community of Allen, Texas with his father who owned Allen Building Company. Mike and his family moved to Allen in 1974 and all three of his daughters grew up in Allen and graduated from Allen High School.

Mike was an early and active member of the Allen community. He served on the committee to write the Allen City Charter, he served on several City boards, he was the first president of the Allen Rotary Club and he was an active member of the Allen Jaycees. He also helped start Allen Sports Association, and he sponsored many youth sports teams (both boys and girls).

Mike was a lifelong supporter of all Dallas sports teams (enduring many heartbreaking seasons), but he was especially devoted to the Dallas Cowboys. An original "Girl Dad," he took his daughters to sporting events and he coached sports teams for each of them. Mike was an avid reader who loved history and trivia. He was a math wizard who could quickly calculate equations in his head, and although he never attended the opera, he could answer most of the questions about opera on Jeopardy.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother; Margaret (Newton) Claytor, and his father; Charles Lee Claytor,

He is survived by Daughters; Shannon Claytor Roberts, Haven Claytor and Jordan Claytor.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a memorial donation to the American Red Cross

Mike was a proud Texan, and would always make sure to buy his friends who had relocated to Texas a bumper sticker that said "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could."
