Mauro Antonio Greiner was born on September 13th, 1938, in La Spezia, Italy, to Luciano and Caterina, and passed away on April 7th, 2024, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 85 years old.
Mauro moved with his family at an early age to Dearborn, Michigan. He became a US citizen on April 2nd, 1957, and graduated from high school and then went to college where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a minor in Business. Mauro met Gail during his early 20’s and they married in 1965. Mauro loved his career in the Aerospace Industry, where he started his 38 year career with Lockheed Martin.
Mauro was an avid bowler and spent over 40 years bowling with his coworkers and friends at Spare Time Lanes, in Arlington, on Thursday nights. Mauro was a huge sports fan and he enjoyed cheering on the Rangers, the Cowboys, the Stars, the Mavericks, the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines. He also loved playing the lotto and scratching lottery tickets. Mauro loved dancing, playing cards, taking immaculate care of his home and landscaping and most importantly, loved spending time with his family and cheering on his granddaughters.
Mauro was a loving and generous Father and Nonno. Mauro was a loving husband to his wife, Gail Greiner, and a proud father to Renee Ott (Rick Ott) and Monique Robinson (Heath Robinson). He was blessed with three granddaughters, Reagan Robinson, Reese Robinson, and Haleigh Ott. His family was his entire world. He loved his neighbors and they loved him, looked after him and treated one another like family.
Mauro is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Anteo, and his cousins, Jack Mattieson, Paul Mattieson and Scott Mattieson.
Mauro is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Greiner, his two daughters, Renee and Monique, sons-in-law, Rick and Heath, and his three beautiful granddaughters, Reagan, Reese and Haleigh. He is also survived by many lifelong friends, family, aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved puppy, Coco.
Mauro requested- and made his family promise to not have a funeral. His family would like to honor his last wish. However, we will be doing a Celebration of Life at a later date.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
