Lisa Renee Kurosky went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday April 24, 2023.
Lisa was born to Elmont Miller and Naomi “Cheryl” Dollar in Fort Worth, Texas on August 12, 1966. She graduated with the Class Of 1983 at Burleson High School.
In October 1981, Lisa went on a blind date (set up through mutual friends) with Rodney Jeffress, and they married on July 8, 1983. Their first date was going to the Burleson High School football game and afterwards to Jack In The Box for a late dinner. Rodney said they loved going to concerts together and went to see the band Pantera whenever they came to the metroplex.
Together they had their only child Stefanie, who was born on July 8, 1994. Rodney and Lisa divorced in 2004 and remained friends.
In 2005, Lisa’s friend Michael Kurosky set her up on a blind date with his brother David. David and Lisa’s first date was at Wilhoit’s Restaurant in Grapevine, after which, they became inseparable. They went to Cabo together with David’s mother Betty in July 2006. David said Lisa was a real trooper and willing to try everything from parasailing to four wheeling and they never had so much fun. On August 18, 2019, they were wed by Michael Kurosky at their home in Watauga.
Lisa spent the bulk of her occupation working in the financial industry at companies like Western American Bank and S&P Capital.
Lisa suffered from multiple illnesses over the last decade. She was very brave, never complained and always had a smile on her face. Lisa had a very sweet nature and never had anything bad to say about anyone. Everyone that knew Lisa, loved Lisa. Lisa passed away at Medical City - North Hills Hospital on April 24 with her family and friends by her side.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father and step-mother Elmont and Brenda Miller, mother and step-father Cheryl and Richard Sturm, brother Gregg Miller and sister Tina Son.
Lisa is survived by her husband David Kurosky, daughter Stefanie Jeffress, aunt Peggy Oliver, first husband Rodney Jeffress, brother-in-law Yen Son, niece Nicole Son, mother-in-law Betty Kurosky, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Tonya Kurosky as well as their children nephew Drew Kurosky, nephew Will Kurosky and niece Paige Kurosky.
Lisa is also survived by her best friend, Cindy Asbury.
A Celebration Of Life will be held for Lisa in the near future. Her family will reach out with details as decisions are made.
