Nodwell. monte had a brother, Kevin Nodwell, who was one of his best friends. He had two sons from his previous marriage, Blake Nodwell and Chase Nodwell, whom he adored. Monte is survived by his wife, Stephanie Nodwell, son, Chase Nodwell, stepson, John Queen and his wife Britni, stepson Brandon Queen, step granddaughter, Carley Queen, his parents, Lee and Paula Nodwell, his brother Kevin Nodwell, his cousins, Christopher Ellis, James Maghes, and Michelle Maghes, as well as his aunt, Sandra Rabbass, along with numerous nephews and one niece. Monte is preceded in death by his son, Blake, who passed in April of 2020.

Monte spent his childhood in Irving, Texas where he enjoyed playing football with the YMCA. He also enjoyed being a part of Indian Guides, a group where boys and their dads enjoyed camping and other activities together. It was with the Indian Guides where his love for Possum Kingdom Lake first grew. His family moved to Midland, Texas when he started senior high school where he enjoyed playing basketball. His dad was transferred to Dallas as he began his senior year. he graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. Monte attended Baylor University upon his graduation from high school.

His love for cars began in Midland where he worked after school in a body shop. He really wanted to be a NASCAR driver and loved to race with a school friend who did become a NASCAR driver. It was only natural that he gravitated to the automobile business where he spent the next 25+ years. He spent the last twelve years working with his wife building their own back flow testing business.

Monte enjoyed cooking and always had a house full of friends and family to test his recipes. He continued to enjoy boating and found it one of his favorite past times. He enjoyed watching all the NASCAR races and auto shows. He never missed any of his sons' soccer games when they were growing up. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father and trusted and loyal friend. Those who knew Monte loved him as he was always there for them in their time of need. He will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Monte's Life is pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
