LeRoy Clayton Obituary

LeRoy Eugene Clayton born on a Friday, January 28, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to Ida Mae Rollins and Johnny B. Clayton.  LeRoy was educated in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Franklin D Roosevelt High School in Oak Cliff, Texas in 1967. Years later LeRoy moved to West Dallas, TX. There he had many friends. He drove for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) transporting the L.G. Pinkston Drill Team to Thursday and Friday night football games, in addition to transporting other area students to many other sporting and school events around the DFW area.

In his early years, LeRoy discovered his love for basketball. Over time those who knew and played with him said “he was a pretty good shooter” and you couldn’t give him any room, because he rarely missed. “Swish” Outside of playing basketball, LeRoy enjoyed shooting pool, playing dominoes, and a good game of Spades, In addition, there was no doubt that he enjoyed football. He was a “True to the Blue” and “Die Hard” Dallas Cowboy fan! Also, from time to time family and friends had opportunities to hear LeRoy sing a tune or two, he truly had a voice. He loved listening to music and loved R&B groups such as The Temptations, the O’Jays, Ron Bank and The Dramatics, and many other groups of the '60s, '70s, and '80s.

Personality-wise LeRoy was fun to be around. He could make you laugh unexpectedly, especially when he did his Bernie Mack imitation. All in all, he was a pretty cool guy.
