With profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Kathleen Ann Schmitt, 76 years old on Friday July 9, 2021. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend to all whose life she touched.
Kathleen Ann Sarment was born May 22, 1945 to LeRoy and LuEllen Sarment. She is survived by husband, Carl J Schmitt; children, James and his wife Jennifer Schmitt, Todd Schmitt, Anthony Schmitt and Tara Schmitt; four grandchildren, Lauren, Jimmy, Ava and Zachary; siblings, Maureen Sarment, Pennie Lowe, and Michael Sarment and wife Linda; nieces and nephews, Chris, Kelly, Amanda, and Jesse; as well as extended family and dear friends.
She worked at AT&T for 27 years. After retirement, she loved life on the road in their 5th wheel traveling around with her friends. She loved her visits back to California and loved cruising.
Kathleen was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother first and foremost. Family and Friends was everything to Kathleen. Everyone can say that, but everyone who knew her knew she was always present and completely there for the people she spent time with. She always took the time to stay in touch and keep up with her family and friends. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Her love of traditions and holiday celebrations will continue to be passed down.
One of Kathie’s favorite phrases was “Don’t cry because it’s over….Smile because it happened”. We will be holding a Celebration of Life honoring the phrase for Kathleen Saturday August 7, 2021. Condolences may be received at the Schmitt Household in Keller, Texas. Contact Simple Cremation for any needed assistance in how to send memorial flowers or condolences.
