Karen Mardis Obituary
Karen Jan Moore Mardis, 72, died February 3, 2023 after a long illness. Funeral Service: None planned. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to The Mardis Family, 6749 Starnes Road, Fort Worth, TX 76182. A lifelong Fort Worth resident, Karen was born August 9, 1950.
An accomplished tennis player, she was a three-year letterperson at both Riverside Junior High and Carter Riverside High Schools. She graduated in 1968. Karen attended Tarrant County College and North Texas State University, and loved playing softball for Riverside Baptist Church.
Karen was a huge fan of the Righteous Brothers, and attended their Fort Worth appearance at Billy Bob’s. She also took the entire family to a Righteous Brothers concert in Las Vegas. Karen worked from the early 1970s until 2018 for phone companies including Southwestern Bell, AT&T, and several smaller companies.
Karen is survived by her husband Robert; children Robert E. “Trey” Mardis III and Brandon Ray Mardis; grandchildren Savannah Nicole Mardis and Kaelin (Drew) Mardis; and great-grandchild Logan Dale Mardis-Smith.
