Obituary

Jordas Bala Boyd was born on November 27th, 1946, in Weatherford, Texas, to Jordas Armstrong Boyd and Lemmie Oleta Weaver, and passed away on August 5th, 2023, in Weatherford, Texas, at the age of 76 years old.

Jordas grew up in Parker County with his parents, Jordas Armstrong Boyd and Lemmie Oleta Weaver Boyd. He was the eldest of three, Don Weaver Boyd, and Walter Lindy Boyd. While attending Weatherford High School, he was active in sports before serving in the military.

Jordas was known by his middle name Bala, and was a proud US Army veteran. He served in the military from 01/06/1967 until 01/24/1969. Through his bravery and service, he was awarded a purple heart among other awards. Bala had many friends and was often the life of the party. Fishing was a passion and something that Bala excelled at. He was a regular at Possum Kingdom Lake, and happily lived on the Brazos River.

Bala was dreamer, but not someone to shy away from a challenge. He spent his time with the people he loved and doing the things that brought him the most happiness. He will be missed by family and friends.

Bala is preceded in death by his father, Jordas Armstrong Boyd, and by his mother, Lemmie Oleta Weaver Boyd.

Bala is survived by his son, Bala Jordas Boyd (Joni Boyd) of Paris, Tennessee, by his daughter, Trayci Faye Boyd Brosovic  (Chris Brosovic) of Bedford, Virginia, by his three grandchildren, Aspen Cole Burnett - Brosovic, Townes Bala Boyd, Journey Rhea Burnett – Brosovic, by his two brothers, Don Weaver Boyd (Kathy) of Spring, Texas, and Lindy Boyd (Nancy) of Stephenville, Texas, by his two nieces and three nephews, and by several beloved cousins and other family and dear friends.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Friday, August 18th, 2023, from 6-8 pm at the Tin Top Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Jordas Bala Boyd's name to, Operation Texas Strong, to help get homeless veterans back on their feet through providing RV homes.
