John William Berry was born on December 25th, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama to Jewel Lowrey and John Berry and passed away on November 27th, 2022 in Bedford, Texas at the age of 93.
John Berry was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama. He was the oldest of six boys. He is a veteran of the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was also offered an appointment to West Point Military Academy
He earned two college degrees, a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science after moving to Texas to work in the aerospace industry. He ultimately became a Professor at DeVry University in Irving Texas where he taught semiconductor theory and mathematics. After he retired, he remained active in the electronics industry by consulting and proofreading textbooks and other publications.
John loved model railroading and trains. His interest in model railroads led to an invention for which he obtained a patent. John had two children, five grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents John and Jewel Berry and 4 of his brothers.
John is survived by his brother Arnold of Colorado Springs, his children Scott and Lisa and his grandchildren.
