Born January 6, 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee, James Michael "Mike" Stegall was the son of James and Barbra Stegall and brother of Debbie 'Stegall' Dubree. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Memphis in 1998, his love of adventure and the outdoors led to an 18 year career as a Park Ranger across multiple states, during which he visited numerous national parks. Never letting an opportunity to pass him by, Mike lived his life to the fullest, going on every adventure he possibly could, from concerts, cruises, and vacations nationwide. The love for his family was only matched by his love for his dogs, who were his constant companions and best friends along his life's adventures until his passing on July 31, 2022, at the age of 58.
Mike is survived by his sister Debbie Dubree (Dwayne); niece Kara 'Dubree' Manis (Justin); nephew David Dubree; and great-nephew Jackson Manis; and great-niece Aubrey Manis; and several cousins. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle, and will be greatly missed by his family.
Per Mike's wishes, there will be no memorial service. However, donations can be made in his memory to Woof Den at 200 Panorama Loop, Waxahachie, Texas 75165, or gifts can be made to the Renal Transplant Unit fund at the Texas Health Resources Foundation by calling 1-866-455-2810 or navigating to https://www4.texashealth.org/donate/donate.aspx, selecting Texas Health Fort Worth as the designation and putting the Renal Transplant Unit Fund in the specify program text field.
