James "Kevin" Daniel, also known as “Pops,” “Flash,” and “Cookie,” was born on June 19th, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, to James Rufus Daniel and to Leola Mae Harmon, and went to be with the Lord on May 18th, 2023, in Weatherford, Texas, at the age of 61 years old, after fighting a 5-week battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Kevin grew up in the small town of Copeville, Texas, alongside 4 sisters. He Graduated from Community High School in 1979, and went to on to work in the Telecommunication field, the Oil Field, and as the Owner/Operator at Big Rig. Kevin lived in Texas all his life. He was a born and bred TEXAN. Kevin was the only son in the family.
Kevin grew up ranching. He enjoyed raising and showing cattle. He loved driving his 4X4 truck. You could find him on weekends playing in the mud with the 4X4, with his friends, who also had 4X4's. He loved family time, including riding side-by-sides, and spending time at his property in Saint Jo, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, cooking out, camping, NASCAR and watching John Wayne movies.
Kevin’s smile was contagious and he had a fantastic sense of humor. He was well known for his mustache. He was soft-hearted but could be stern, when needed. He was a lifelong friend to many. He was a father-figure to those that needed one. He loved his extra kids as much as he loved his own. He would drop what he was doing to come to the rescue of others who needed him. He could fix just about anything. He loved watching his grandkids play sports. He always knew what to say for any occasion. Kevin was truly happy. Nothing made him happier than to see other people happy. His true purpose on this planet was bringing joy and love to anyone that needed it. He was one of the best. He was one of a kind.
