J Jesus Hernandez Ayala Obituary

J Jesus Hernandez Ayala Prieto was born on May 4th, 1950, in Agua Caliente, Puruandiro Michoac, Mexico, to Jesus Hernandez and to Juanita Ayala, and passed away on May 5th, 2023, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 73 years old.

Jesus grew up in Agua Caliente, Michoacan, in Mexico. He was the 5th child in a family of 11, including Hermilo, Arturo, Guadalupe, Juvenal, Josefina, Flor, Estela, Katarino, Teresa, and Jose. He never had a chance to pursue more than a primary school education, but he began to shepherd goats at the age of 4, initially for his uncle and eventually his own flock from the age of 5. With his help, his mother began a cheese making business and was able to feed his younger siblings. He worked in other farming capacities and in construction upon moving to Morelia. He married Salud Mejia in 1973, in Morelia, and had three children together: Jesus., Lucia and Arturo. Jesus then joined the Mexican military in 1979, where he served until 1984. After the death of his wife, Salud, Jesus married his wife, Marta, in 1989, and had two children together, Josue and Mariana. Jesus moved to the United States in 1990, and lived in Butterfield, Minnesota, until 1999, and in St. James, Minnesota, until 2012. Jesus worked in Butterflied Foods from 1990 to 2000, and Tony Downs until 2012. Jesus lived in Texas from 2012 to 2018, and worked as a groundskeeper until his retirement in 2017. He moved back to Morelia, Mexico, in 2018.

Jesus always had a special interest in the arts. He especially enjoyed poetry, cinema, history and generally gaining knowledge. He particularly liked music and wrote many songs, as well as managing his brother's band in his youth. Jesus was an avid gardener and greatly enjoyed nature. He played in a few local sports teams, especially enjoying his baseball league during his military service. After he moved to Minnesota, he became Vikings fan by default. He loved going on long walks with his family during the summer, and teaching his kids to fish. In his later years, he became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and had plans of joining his wife, Marta, in the pioneer service.

Jesus was always a person who seemed shy and reserved but behind that visage, he had an incredible sense of humor, making his loved ones crack a smile even in the worst of times. Jesus was a man who valued people and his relationships with them above anything material. He was an incredibly humble person, who was always willing to offer shelter and food to anyone in need. Besides his immediate family, many of his nieces and nephews held him in such high regard that they considered him a second father, and acknowledged the deep impact his generosity had in helping them survive. As a husband, he was both a friend and a confidant,[1]a trusted adviser and loving father. Jesus was a punctual and dedicated worker. He always took pride in his work, regardless of what it was, he showed dedication as if it was his purpose for being on this earth.

Jesus is preceded in death by his beloved aunt, "Chenta," who helped raise him, as well as by his parents, Juanita Ayala and Jesus Hernandez, by his brothers, Hermilo, Arturo, Juvenal, and by sister, Guadalupe, by his first wife, Teresa Rico, and by second wife, Ma. Salud Mejia.

Jesus is survived by his wife, Marta, by his children, Jesus, Lucia, Arturo, Josue y Mariana, by his grandchildren, Anthony, Averie, Isabella, Elias and Christian, by his siblings, Josefina, Flor, Estela, Katarino, Teresa and Jose, and by many other beloved family members and dear friends.

You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands. Job 14:15
