Grady Ray Stone

October 14, 1940 ~ May 7, 2022 (age 81)

Obituary

Grady Ray Stone, 81, was born on October 14th, 1940, and died on Saturday, May 7th, 2022, at 9:15 PM of natural causes in his home. Grady’s wife, Mary, joined him just 15 hours later. Grady was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where he returned to after his stint in the Marines.

Grady was a man of God and a Marine equally. Grady R Stone, LCpl, served as a Radio Telegrapher for the United States Marine Corp during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Grady was the frontline solider, the stronghold, during that October Crisis of 1962.

Outside of his love for Mary and his family, he enjoyed fishing, tactical shooting, and teaching gun safety. Grady was a member and a deacon at North Richland Hills Baptist Church & Cross Church. Grady also mentored men in their Faith and those who wanted to become a Marine. He was in every sense our own Superman. He was our family’s stronghold and light in the dark. Grady will forever be our hero.

Grady is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Dottie Stone, and by his daughter, Vickie Auberry.

Grady is survived by his children, Rick and wife Kim Stone, Todd Stone, Yvonne and husband Dan Phonhnaboth, Tammy Connally, Denise Bates, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2022, at North Richland Hills Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will be on Monday, May 23rd, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery
