Gerda Hes Obituary
Gerda Franken Hes, born in Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 1931, passed away in Dallas on February 28, 2016. She immigrated to the US in 1956 with the assistance of the Jewish Federation after WWII, settling in San Antonio, Texas prior to moving to the Dallas area. She proudly became an American citizen in 1963. Gerda was an avid cook and enjoyed needlecraft, but her biggest joy was participating in her family's activities, supporting them in athletics and any endeavor. She was the quintessential 'block mom' wherever they resided. She is survived by her children Morris L. Hes, Heine Fiore, and Corinne Hes and is also survived by her grandchildren Douglas, Heather, Matthew, Jeremy, Christopher and Alex Hes, Jeffrey and Christina Burrows, and Sarah Fiore, and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
