Gerald Henry Fast was born on April 9th, 1952, in New Kirk, Oklahoma, to Winifred Brown and to Freda Jenkins, and he passed away on January 12th, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 70 years old.
Gerald was raised alongside his brothers, Ronnie and Lance Fast, and his sister, Sherry Calverley, by Freda and Chester Henry Fast. He graduated from Garland High School and loved to sing in the choir. Thereafter, he enlisted in the US Airforce in the year of 1971. A year later, he met the love of his life, Katie Elizabeth Jackson, and they married in May of 1972. A few years later they had Kimberly, Beverly, and Tony.
Gerald had a love for singing and playing the acoustic guitar to his friends and family. His favorite songs were “Rhinestone Cowboy,” “Ten Gallon Hat,” “Driving My Life Away,” “I Love A Rainy Night,” and “I Believe In You.” He was very compassionate about the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers since childhood. He loved to take his children to Ranger games, amusement parks, and to go camping by the lake.
Gerald left this world peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, singing and praising the Lord’s name so that he could join heaven to be with his beloved Katie, who had just passed a month before him.
Gerald is survived by his mother, Freda; two brothers; sister; three children, and by their families, by his daughter, Kimberly and her husband, Karl Waine; grand-son, Matthew; grand-daughter, Caitlyn and her husband, Cameron, and great-grand-daughter, Lyla, daughter, Beverly, and her husband, Kevin Waine, grand-daughter, Brooke, and grand-son, Brandon, and son, Anthony Henry Fast.
Dad’s looking down from Heaven screaming: “How ‘Bout Them Boys!”
