Gary Lyn Clark

April 4, 1962 ~ April 24, 2022 (age 60)

Gary Lyn Clark, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2022 at the age of 60. He was born on April 4, 1962 to George M Clark and Marjorie A. Crafword Clark in Abilene, Texas. After graduating high school, Gary briefly attended Hardin Simmons University, then moved to San Angelo and Arlington before settling in Dallas, where he established himself as a successful hairdresser. It was when Gary moved to Dallas that he began going by his last name. Having one name seemed cool, like Cher or Madonna. It seemed to fit his personality perfectly. Everyone who knew Clark adored him. Before moving to The Hive Salon, Clark perfected his craft of cutting hair by working at some of Dallas' most prestigious salons, including L'Entourage, Richard Haylor, and John Vega salons. Over his 30+ year career, he had many loyal clients whom he considered friends and family.

Clark made friends easily, and he invested his time and heart in all his relationships. His home was his pride and joy. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining a beautiful yard. Flowers, plants, birds, squirrels, and even possums seemed to flock to and flourish in his backyard. He also loved holidays. Halloween and Christmas were two of his favorites for decorating his home. Clark was brilliant and had a scientific mind. He particularly enjoyed watching science fiction films and television shows. The Star Trek franchise was one of his favorites. Clark was physically strong, always kind, reliable, and had a capacity for loving beyond compare. He had an innate ability to make everyone who knew him feel special. His compassion and tender heart were his trademarks.

Clark was a deep thinker and a planner. He never wandered without intention and always said that hope was not a plan. Clark was the quintessential definition of a friend. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and his partner. He was responsible, a leader, someone you could always rely on, and someone who always let you know how much he cared. Clark was physically beautiful with a heart that was even more beautiful. He filled our hearts with love and left a massive hole in the universe at his passing. No one has or ever will compare to our dear, beloved Clark.

Clark was preceded in death by his father, George M. Clark, and mother, Marjorie A. Crawford Clark. He is survived by his partner of 17 years, Ken Curtis, older brother Terry Clark, niece Brittney Keesee, and nephew Dalton Clark. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Parker, and his dearest friends Jeff Underwood, Vincent Villescas, David Lawrence, and John Lawliss.

A Celebration of Clark's Life is pending at this time. Instead of flowers, Ken asks that you consider making a memorial donation to The American Cancer Society.

Dearest Clark, we think about you always. We talk about you still. You have never been forgotten. And you never will. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives until we meet again.
