Elizabeth "Beth" Mathis, 31, of Ft. Worth, TX passed away on Friday, April 9th. She was born on August of 1989 in Phoenix, AZ. After graduating from Grapevine High School, she went on to study Nursing at Lamar University. She was selected as Captain of the Lamar Women's Soccer team where she played for all 4 years. Following graduation, she began her career at Texas Health Ft. Worth, working as a nurse in the Emergency Department. During her 10 years at Texas Health she had many roles including Charge Nurse, Resuscitation Nurse and Preceptor. Beth continued to save several lives after her passing as an organ donor.
Beth was a loving mother to her beautiful daughter, Mila. Their days together were filled new and exciting adventures. Anyone who knew Beth, knew that she was fun, loving and sometimes silly. She was passionate about enjoying life, always making family a priority. Beth had a talent for bringing her family or friends together in memorable experiences.
She was predeceased by Grandparents Patricia Squires, Joel and Kimiko Richards.
She is survived by her parents Mark and Sandra Squires; Grandparents Donald and Vicky Squires; her siblings Christina Shaffer, Alexander Squires and Katherine Squires; and her daughter Mila Mathis. She is also survived by her sister by marriage Ashley, brother by marriage Scott, many aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and niece, and her family at Texas Health Resources.
Beth brought joy to those who knew her. She will be missed more than words can say.
