Donald Daly Obituary

Donald Andrew Daly passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on January 12, 2022 at the age of 93.

Don was born in St. Albans, New York on June 16, 1928, the third of four sons born to John and Caroline Daly. He attended elementary school at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic School and high school at Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, NY. Following high school, Don enlisted in the US Marines Corp where he served as a Rifleman, stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Upon returning from the service, Don attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. After graduation Don moved back to New York City to begin his career in the textiles industry. He enjoyed spending time at the Atlantic Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, N.Y. where he developed lifelong friendships. It was at the Atlantic Beach Club where he met his wife of 64 years, Jeanne Marie Kramer. Married on October 20, 1956 together they raised four children in Rockville Centre, NY before relocating to Dallas, TX in January of 1972. In Dallas, Don was an active member of the St. Rita Catholic Community. He was an avid golfer at Las Colinas Country Club and Prestonwood Country Club and spent many weekends pursuing his pastime.  He also enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing with good friends and family.  Don was a very proud and attentive grandfather as he never missed a sports game or activity in which his grandchildren participated. He was the epitome of fun.  Always welcoming, Don never met a stranger and had the unique ability to make everyone around him laugh and smile with one of his many stories.

He is preceded in death by his father John Daly; mother Caroline Daly; brothers Jack and Carroll Daly; and beloved wife Jeanne Daly.
