Dolores "Dee" Harmon Obituary

Dolores “Dee” Jane Harmon, of Lake Orion, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her sleep entering Heaven to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Bedford, Texas at the age of 89 years. Dee was born on September 26, 1931 in Pontiac, Michigan to Margaret and Douglas Hall and was raised in Lake Orion with her sister, Beverly who passed 7-1-2015. Dee was a salutatorian graduate of Lake Orion High School, she met the love of her life Bud at Riggles Roller Rink and the two won many skating awards. They went on to have a prosperous business in ceramics for over 40 years; Bud & Dee's Ceramics in Oxford, Michigan. Bud was president of the Michigan Ceramic Association for several years - and passed Sept 4th 2003. Dee moved to Texas in 2012 to be closer to her son, Lee, and his wife, Rhonda, in Grapevine, Texas.

She was very musical taking up the clarinet and in the school band from 6th through 12th grade, lettering in band and earning several pins. Dee's most prevalent interest her entire life was photography. She traveled extensively including cruising and travel abroad. She was an avid member of the Red Hatters, a dedicated fan of playing cards endlessly, and Member of Lake Orion Methodist church which she supported faithfully. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.  Dee was very outgoing and never too shy to ask to take a photo with anyone and everyone she met. She loved people, and remembering them. Her Ideals she said were; Obey God, Always Pray, Family is treasure, Friendships are gifts, Smile often and Remain Humble.

Dolores Jane Harmon is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her parents, and her daughter, LuAnn Short. She is survived by her son Lee and wife Rhonda, and by her grandson Jerud and wife Heather. She is also survived by her two sons Ryan of Lake Orion, MI and Nick Short and beloved Lisa of Wonder Lake, IL as well as her great grandson Nicholas Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Dee Requests a donation to the Salvation Army or the Am Heart Association. You may leave condolences for Dee’s family on this tribute page.
