Darlene Martin, 75, of Saginaw, TX passed on November 15, 2021. Darlene was born in Kenilworth, UT on August 15, 1946 to Bert Clifford “Cliff” Burnside and Ruth Lorraine Salmon Burnside. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister Marilyn Newlin; husband Roger Gene Martin; and grandson Gabriel Weiss. Darlene is survived by her daughter Tracy Woodruff and son-in-law Matthew Woodruff; daughter Nikki Weiss and son-in-law Sean Weiss; granddaughter Makenzie Woodruff; grandson Blake Woodruff; and granddaughters Peyton, Bailey, and Carter Weiss. She will be fondly remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother “Mutti”, and grandmother who loved her family selflessly.
Darlene proudly and honorably served her country as an intelligence operations specialist in the USAF and was named the 301st Tactical Fighter Wing’s Outstanding Airman of the Year in 1979. Aside from raising her two daughters, Darlene’s service to her country was her most proud accomplishment. Darlene retired as Deputy City Clerk for the city of Long Beach, CA in 2000.
Darlene will join her husband, Roger, in rest at the DFW National Cemetery.
