Cheryl Lynn (Flipp) Edgar

Cheryl Lynn Edgar was born March 30th, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Joe Flipp and Jennie Pruitt Flipp, and passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family on April 8, 2023 in Fort Worth,Texas.

Cheryl’s youth was spent in the Diamond Hill neighborhood of Fort Worth, where she had many friends and lots of fun. She loved serving the community at Pruitt’s Florist with her Nanny and cheering on the Eagles with her cheer squad on Friday nights. Cheryl graduated from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School in 1973 and went on to enjoy a long, successful career in retail management, ending with the Valero Corporation in 2009. In retirement, she loved gardening, crafting, and reading. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. Cheryl’s kindness, generosity, compassion, and sense of humor endeared her to many. She never met a stranger and her fun-loving personality brought laughter wherever she went.

She was preceded in death by her “Nanny”, Jennie Pruitt; her father, Joe Flipp; her mother, Jennie Frey (formerly Flipp); and her brothers Timmy Frey and Larry Flipp.

Cheryl is survived by her loving children: Michael Edgar (his wife, Elizabeth) and Mandy Peterson (her husband, Eric) who she shared with Paul Edgar; Wesley Davis, Jr (his wife, Chelsea) and Jenna Walsh (her husband, J.P.) who she shared with Wes Davis, Sr; her sisters: Norma Owens; Linda Flipp Capps; Tina Gee; and Joely Flipp Fisher; her “pretty babies” (grandchildren): Hopie Garcia (her husband, Aaron); Hayden Edgar; Madelyn Peterson; Cara Peterson; Mykel McNeese; Westyn McNeese; Rhett Peterson; Wyatt Beasley; Delilah Davis Muench; and a great-grandbaby on the way.
