Barry Harris Obituary
Barry John Harris was born on August 8th, 1949, in Bellevue, Iowa, to Kenneth Harris and to Mary Jane Even, and passed away on January 12th, 2024, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 74 years old.
Barry served in the United State Air Force from 1969 to 1973. While stationed at Ellsworth AFB, he met the love of his life, Leanne Reynolds. They were married for 51 years. They lived in many places before settling in Arlington, Texas, where they lived for 45 years.
Barry loved working sales jobs and spent time with Sherwin Williams, Coach House Gifts and World Trade Center-Dallas. Barry was born, raised, and graduated from high school in Bellevue, Iowa.
Barry loved tennis as a younger man. He was on many baseball and softball teams, and he also bowled on a team with his buddies. He discovered fishing and bought a boat, and he was super happy. Then he discovered GOLF, where he spent many hours playing with his friends. Barry was an avid New York Yankee fan, and anyone who knew him knew this. But he also had a place in his heart for the Texas Rangers, attending many games.
Barry was an outgoing, happy guy. He had a great personality and could talk to anyone he met. He was a loving husband to his wife, Leanne.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Leanne, of 51 years, his three brothers, Bill Harris (Pat) of Waukee, Iowa, Randy Harris (Joyce) of LeClaire, Iowa, and Jeff Harris (Tracy) of Eldridge, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home. A reception is to follow immediately at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
