Alexander Rankin Obituary

As you may or may not know, I am no longer on this planet and wish you all well and hope you all push hard to achieve your desired wishes and purpose. I am from a small farm east of Saskatoon, Canada where I was born on June 29, 1947. My loving parents instilled in me a deep belief in honesty, hard work and kindness to others. I worked hard with my parents to feed the cattle, harvest the crops, shovel the grain, load and haul the 50 to 80 lb bales of hay, carry water from the well to the house and too many other chores to mention. This defined me and my physique and work ethic that carried me through my life and personal career successes. I was also a young 13 year old athlete, always bringing home a pocket full of first prize ribbons from the local sports competitions and was a sought after windmill pitcher for men's leagues. I moved off the farm in 1963 to start high school in Saskatoon at Nutana. That was when I was introduced to football where I played for 4 years which propelled me into the junior leagues and then professional football within the Canadian CFL. I was fortunate to play in 2 grey cups and win a grey cup ring in 1971 with the Calgary Stampeders.

I have proudly demonstrated an extraordinary energy and work ethic through concurrent occupations as a professional athlete with the Canadian CFL, university lecturer and a public speaker. This was all accomplished while obtaining Master of Business Administration ( MBA ), Bachelor of Arts ( BA ) and Bachelor of Commerce ( B Comm ) degrees. I was instrumental in leading several business ventures with their growth and development to achieve multi - million to billion dollar valuations. I was the CEO of NexCycle Inc. and through the integration of nearly twenty acquisitions I lead NexCycle to become one of the fastest growing firms in America. I also participated in an ongoing association with the World Presidents Organization ( WPO ) and was always available to mentor and help other entrepreneurs and like minded individuals to succeed and enjoyed seeing them succeed.

I have been a devoted health practitioner, athlete, brother to look up to and be admired, friend of everyone, gym trainer that pushed others to exceed their limitations and someone who was there to listen unjudgementally and help others in need. I am proud to have had this said about me "he was also an engaging great friend and a really good human being".

I was preceded in death by my Father ( James ), Mother ( Ruth ) and Sister ( Elaine ).

I am survived by my brother Lavern ( wife Joan ) who is just a little miffed by this as I was supposed to outlive everyone on the list and I lived every day believing "never in doubt, but some times wrong". I am also survived by my Aunt Donna Cornea, nieces: Jennifer ( husband Kristofer ) Jilian ( husband Tyler and their 1.5 yr old son Spencer ) and nephew Davis Poscente ( my deceased sister's son )  and many cousins in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Ontario, Canada. I am also survived by many of my gym trainees who relentlessly persevered my grueling training routines so I hope they carry on and succeed in their goals.

A celebration of life and general gathering is planned for May 20, 2023 at 610 Via Ravello, Irving, Texas in the "cabana". The time is 12 noon to 2 PM.

Winners catch curve balls, Hoorah!, Problems are only new opportunities in the making, Long story short, Yada Yada Yada, Power through it, The only easy day was yesterday, All in All the time.
Al was an inspiration to me as a brother every time he walked into the room or we talked on the phone and I believe to many others.
