Johnnie Theodore Huddleston Jr., age 71, of Glen Rose, Texas, passed away March 9, 2019. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 3, 1948 to Johnnie Theodore Huddleston Sr. and Marcelle Vaught Huddleston. His family moved to Arlington, TX where he later graduated from Sam Houston High School. John went on to serve two tours in Vietnam as a Navy Frogman and Special Operations Explosives Ordinance Disposal Diver. He returned to Arlington, TX where he met his wife, Sherry, and soon after came John III then Veronica. Before moving to Glen Rose, TX they resided in Granbury, TX where both children graduated from high school and where he served in many capacities at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. John Huddleston Jr. worked hard all his life for many companies teaching, developing training courses, and consulting. He spent every minute of his life outside work with his wife, children, and friends, fishing, camping, pickin’ and grinin’ and restoring old cars. When John finally retired at 62 years old he got to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a musician playing cover tunes from all his favorite classic country music artists in Granbury, Glen Rose, Bluffdale, Hico, Walnut Springs and Pecos, TX. John was referred to and highly regarded as a Hi-Tech Redneck.

Johnnie Theodore Huddleston Jr. is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Huddleston, mother, Marcelle Huddleston, brothers, Mike Huddleston and Tony Huddleston; children, John T Huddleston III and Veronica Huddleston Rich; granddaughters, Zaydee Ford and Zarah Ford; as well as extended family and dear friends.

A Committal Service with Military Honors will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211. Funeral guests will line up in the cemetery’s Lane 3 at 9:45 AM.

I just found out about the bad news.Johnnie and I were good friends at sam Houston high school during the 60s.I will certainly miss him.I am a veteran also.,,god bless our vets
